This article provides information about selecting Radeon Software installation types and available features.
Overview
Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.4.1 provides users an option to choose full installation, minimal installation, or driver only installation, during the initial setup for Radeon Software.
Full installation provides all Radeon Software features and controls for gaming, recording, streaming, and performance tuning, available on your graphics hardware. Minimal installation provides only the basic controls for Radeon Software and does not include advanced features such as performance tuning or recording and capturing content. The driver only installation provides no user interface for Radeon Software features.
The following sections in this article contain examples for each install type during and after Radeon Software setup. The steps outlined are based on Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.4.1. If you are using an earlier version of Radeon Software, please update it first. For instructions, please refer to article: Information about AMD Radeon Series Graphics, Radeon Software, and Available Updates

- After passing system compatibility check, a screen with options similar to the example below will appear.

- Click on Advanced Options and choose the preferred install type (or location).

- Click on the dropdown menu for Install Type and select from Full Install (default), Minimal Install, or Driver Only.

- Choose the desired installation type (Minimal Install for example) then click Install to continue with this setup.


Minimal installation provides only the basic controls for Radeon Software and does not include advanced features such as performance tuning or recording and capturing content. Here is an example of the available menu options with minimal installation:

Driver only installation provides no user interface for Radeon Software features. Driver version information is available in Device Manager, for example:

NOTE! Switching from one install type to another requires going through the Radeon Software installation and setup process again.
