Graphic cards, available in Japan, that do not support decoding of MPEG-2 with AES128 encryption
Advisory:
Decoding of MPEG-2 with AES128 encryption (MPEG-2 AES) is supported on most ATI Radeon HD 4000 series and all ATI Radeon HD 5000 series graphics cards.
MPEG-2 AES is required for Discrete Graphics Products in order to playback protected ISDB-T Digital TV in the Japan region. MPEG-2 AES is not required for playback of protected ISDB-T Digital TV on Integrated Graphics Products.
The following Discrete Graphics Products do not support MPEG-2 AES, and therefore cannot playback protected ISDB-T Digital TV:
- ATI Radeon™ HD 4850
- ATI Radeon™ HD 4870
- ATI Radeon™ HD 4890
- ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 Series
- ATI Radeon™ HD 2000 Series
The following Integrated (Chipset) Graphics Products do not support MPEG-2 AES, but are able to playback protected ISDB-T Digital TV:
- ATI Radeon™ 3000
- ATI Radeon™ 3100
- ATI Radeon™ HD 3200
- ATI Radeon™ HD 3300
NOTE: Desktop computer systems with ATI Radeon HD 4850, HD 4870 & HD4890 Discrete Graphics Products installed on motherboards with the above AMD IGP chipsets may be able to playback protected ISDB-T content by enabling SurroundView(TM) and connecting displays to the video outputs on the motherboard (as playback will not be enabled for displays connected to the affected Discrete Graphics Products).
