If your Mac Pro (2019) running Windows™ 10 has a Thunderbolt Display connected, your AMD graphics driver installation might be interrupted by a black screen and sudden system reboot.
To avoid your installation getting interrupted
- Make sure only one display is connected.
- If the display is connected by HDMI, then you can proceed with the AMD graphics driver installation.
- If the display is a Thunderbolt Display, then use the workaround below to reduce your display resolution before proceeding with the AMD graphics driver installation.
Reduce the resolution of your Thunderbolt Display
- Right-click your desktop, then choose Display Settings.
- Click “Advanced display settings”.
- Click “Display adapter properties for Display 1”
- Click the List All Modes button.
- Choose a display resolution no greater than 3840 x 2160.
- To save your changes click OK, click OK again, and then click the "Keep changes” button.
If your AMD graphics driver installation has already been interrupted by a black screen and sudden system reboot
- Use the workaround above titled "Reduce the resolution of your Thunderbolt Display".
- Run your AMD graphics driver installation again.
