This product bulletin identifies an error on the list of contents on AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processor boxes with a 105W to 170W TDP and notifies all purchasers that coolers or heatsinks are NOT included with those processors. This includes the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, and AMD Ryzen 9 7950X.
AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor boxes do NOT include a cooler or heatsink, and a cooling solution must be purchased independently.
This notice is to inform you that the Spanish and French language list of contents incorrectly indicates that a cooler or heatsink is included.
AMD is taking the following steps to address this error: (i) updating the language on boxes to include an accurate description of the box contents in all languages, which should begin shipment to market in the next 4-6 weeks, (ii) distributing stickers with corrected language to distributors and channel customers and partners to be placed on their current inventory, (iii) making signage available to our channel customers and partners that can be deployed at point of sale and (iv) instructing all channel customers and partners to verify that all digital advertising of the products make clear that the product is not sold with a cooler or heatsink.
Be advised that AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors will require a CPU cooler capable of dissipating at least 105W (for the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X and AMD Ryzen 7 7700X), or at least 170W (for the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X and AMD Ryzen 9 7950X).
