Issue Description

Some users may encounter the following error when attempting to uninstall AMD Ryzen chipset drivers.

“AMD Chipset Software Installer cannot proceed because of missing files. For information on how to resolve this issue, please refer to article.”

This error message is prompted by the AMD Chipset Software Installer, users may terminate the operation by clicking on Close.

Cause

This error occurs when the AMD Chipset Software Installer has detected missing dependencies (files) from the current system which may have been removed by a previous software/driver update or uninstall operation.

Recommendations

This error occurs when the AMD Chipset Software Installer has detected missing dependencies (files) from the current system which may have been removed by a previous software/driver update or uninstall operation.

To workaround this error and allow the uninstall operation to complete, please follow the steps below.

  1. Download and install the latest AMD Ryzen chipset drivers for your system, from AMD.com. For instructions, refer to article: How to Install AMD Ryzen™ Chipset Drivers on a Windows® Based System 
  2. After the AMD Ryzen chipset drivers have been successfully installed/updated, you can now either:
    1. Uninstall the AMD Ryzen chipset driver package. For uninstall instructions, refer to the article linked above.
    2. Continue using the latest Ryzen chipset drivers just installed
