Possible Cause

AMD Software Installer detected conflicting third-party graphics drivers installed on the system and terminated the installation. 

Solution

If the third-party graphics hardware is physically installed (but not integrated) in the system, it must be removed before running AMD Software Installer. Start by uninstalling the third-party graphics software and drivers. Once completed, remove the graphics hardware (if applicable). Refer to the user manual from the third-party graphics manufacturer for instructions.

If you are still unable to resolve error 183 after completing the steps outlined above and need further assistance, please contact AMD Customer Care, and attach the AMD Software Installer log file to your service request. The AMD Software Installer log file is in C:\Program Files\AMD\CIM\Log\Installer.log

IMPORTANT! Follow the steps below when raising a service request for this issue:

  2. Enter "Error 183" (without quotes) in the Subject field.
  3. Provide as much detail as possible about your issue in the Description field.
  4. Attach the AMD Software Install log file to the service request and click Submit.
