This article provides tips and guidelines for packing and shipping your AMD product for RMA warranty service.

Packaging Tips
Any damage to your AMD product that occurred during shipping due to poor packaging will void your warranty coverage from AMD. Therefore, it is important to properly pack your AMD product to ensure it is delivered safely and undamaged to AMD. Here are some helpful tips on preparing and packing your items for shipping:
- Wrap the return item with cushioning material such as foam or bubble-wrap to fill void spaces inside the box.
- Place the wrapped item in a sturdy box or carton and remove any old labels and slips from reused packing materials and containers.
- Include an extra label with your address, contact details, RMA number, and quantity of AMD products being returned inside the package.
- Use packing tape and apply it evenly across flaps and seams to both the top and bottom of the outer box.
Product Packaging Instructions
For Processor-in-Box (PIB), secure the processor using the plastic clamshell that came with the original PIB packaging. If the plastic clamshell is not available, an alternative is to use packing-foam or sponge pads, as shown below:
Wrap the enclosed processor with cushioning material (foam/bubble-wrap) and seal the package with tape. For multiple unit returns wrap and seal each product separately.
NOTE! DO NOT wrap returning item(s) with paper, polythene, or cloth.
For AMD Desktop Kit, insert the kit in the anti-static bag and protective carton that came with its original packaging. If original packaging material is not available, bubble-wrap can be used as an alternative, as shown below. For multiple unit returns wrap and seal each Desktop Kit separately.
NOTE! DO NOT wrap returning item(s) with paper, polythene, or cloth.
For AMD Radeon / Radeon Pro series graphics card, use the original gift box packaging the graphics card came inside. If original packaging material is not available, bubble-wrap can be used as an alternative, as shown below. For multiple units returns wrap and seal each card separately.
NOTE! DO NOT wrap returning item(s) with paper, polythene, or cloth.
Use a sturdy corrugated cardboard box to place the item(s) in and fill void spaces with cushioning material to prevent movement during shipping.
Seal the box securely with packing tape and attach your shipping label to the box with the destination address, RMA number, and quantity of units in clear view. The example shown below is for indicative purposes only:
Shipping Guidelines
To ensure a smooth delivery of your AMD product and returns processing, AMD recommends:
- Using a reputable carrier service that provides tracking details and delivery confirmation for your shipment.
- Labeling the exterior box with the address information for both the sender and recipient of the package.
- For PIB only, avoid sending back the heat sink and fan.
