AMD is deeply committed to collaborative, supportive and open relationships with our OEM and AIB customers. AMD provides a variety of support services to customers that manufacture systems using AMD product, including manufacturing enablement, product change communications, issue resolution activities and returns management.
Customer Quality Team
We provide responsive and uncompromised quality services to our customers through AMD’s Customer Quality Engineering team. We collaborate with our customers and their manufacturing partners to help optimize the overall board manufacturing experience with AMD products. We promptly respond to potential quality concerns from OEM, ODM and Channel partners, acting as the primary interface for quality related issues. The Customer Quality Engineering Team is responsible for working with AMD’s engineering teams to drive continuous improvement including excursion management and proactive quality systems improvements.
Support Activities
AMD values our customer relationships, and we work hard to successfully enable ODM production and our OEM customers’ systems. These activities include:
- Initiating early engagement for new products with customers’ factory production and manufacturing teams through the New, Unique, Different, Difficult method to meet quality requirements
- Volume production field product technical support, including Failure Analysis and Return Material Authorization (RMA)
- Collecting and reporting customer production line quality data/index for continuous improvement
- Executing on-site verification at the customer production line, to support the customer RMA process
- Providing immediate on-site support to address customer production line excursions and drive issue resolution in a timely manner
- Providing product change notifications and end of life notifications to customers
- Measuring and monitoring customer satisfaction and continually using this information to improve performance
